          Mephisto match dress shoes, and shark sandals have been the only shoes to provide excellent back support and comfort since I started wearing them 14 years ago. I have 2 ruptured discs from a soccer accident and the difference is amazing. I went on vacation to Hawaii and forgot the shark sandals. For two days I was in pain and realized the good sandals I bought were no were near Mephisto. I bought the shark sandals and 1 day later no pain. I only wear Mephisto's for business and casual wear.

          I always dread buying new shoes because they either never carry my size in the styles I like or they end up not being very comfortable after being on my feet all day. This was the second pair of shoes I purchased within a month because the first pair (Clarks Nature 2) although much cheaper didn't feel comfortable after extended use as they were much to soft in the sole. I hesitatingly tried on the Mephisto Match shoes thinking I would never pay $350 for a pair of shoes! To my surprise they fit like a glove and my weight felt evenly dispersed across the entire foot bed. The craftsmanship of the shoe was superb and the soles were supportive without feeling spongy as most walking shoes are. I have had them for three months now and I am very happy with my purchase!

          This is a heavy shoe due to solid construction and top of the line materials. I usually buy size 11 but had to return for 10.5 to get proper fit. also order the Shark sandle and had the same sizing issue.Footwar Etc. is an online company that I would highly recommend. great experience.

          With Mephisto's resoling program shoes are indestructable. Mephisto offfers several levels of reconditioning all the way from new shoelaces all to total rebuild including outer soles,shocks,inner soles, inner heel backs, insoles, dying where necessary and stitching where necessary. Pricey up front but all the "lives" of the Mephisto Match more than make up for it. Mephisto resoling program is very well run and accomodating to individual needs
