This MBT style is a Footwear etc. exclusive! We are the only retailer in the United States that sells them.

The MBT Kisumu 3S is the new and improved version of the classic sporty women's sandal. More streamlined version of the Kisumu, complete with leather upper and waterproof Masai sensor! The unique multi-layered sole and Masai sensor emulates the feeling of walking on sand.

MBT Kisumu 3S Red Ochre Leather Women's Sandal

  • Full grain leather upper
  • Soft microfiber lining allows moisture to wick and helps keep your feet cool and dry
  • Midsole is made with TPU and nylon mixed with glass fibers for extra firmness and durability
  • Multi-layered sole creates natural instability to emulate the feeling of walking on sand
  • Adjustable ankle and metatarsal straps for a custom fit

MBT has updated the new Spring 14 line by making the Masai Sensor in the sole waterproof so it will not break down when wet!

A different kind of comfort from the original Kisumu. A delight to wear!

    • Comments:

These replaced my original Kisumu sandals which I loved and wore religiously until sadly, the Masai sensor disintegrated. I'm pleased with these so far. I especially like the microfiber lining. It is superior in comfort to what was previously used. I practically swoon when I slip them on! I like the streamlined look but feel that some comfort has been lost due to the slimmer profile. In a side by side comparison the Kisumu 3 straps and buckles are a smidge smaller which makes the sandals look much less clunky. I love my new pair much as my old ones, just for different reasons.

Love them! The first day I got a blister on my right heel, but as they soften up more, I'm sure I'll be able to wear them all day, every day. I've been wearing MBT's for years and although I occasionally try other brands for economy reasons, I always go back to MBT Kisumu sandals.

    Leather uppers not so comfy
    • Rating:
      Good Enough
    • Comments:

I am a long time owner of MBT Kisumu sandals and absolutely love them. The original Kisumu sandal uppers were made with suede leather and had wider straps. They are so comfortable. These 3 S version have harder, narrower leather straps and cut into my ankle bone. I had to send these beautiful sandals back. I have narrow feet, which may make the problem worse for me.

    Kisumu's still rule.
    • Rating:
      Excellent
    • Comments:

I would give my third pair of Kisumu's a 4.5, while the previous two pairs got a 5.0. The latest Kisumu incarnation lacks the comfortable back strap padding of its predecessors, and on the first wearing I developed a blister on the heel. The sole is not quite as springy as the two previous pairs, either. My hope is that this pair does not wind up with a "doughnut hole" in mid-sole, as did the earlier pairs. That is the major problem with Kisumu's, in my opinion. The tunnel that Kisumu's get after 3 or 4 years of wear is sadly irreparable, according to the specialists who fix MBTs. All that being said, I staunchly defend MBTs for their tremendous health-giving benefits and overall comfort. The MBT technology promotes great posture and makes the wearer work a wee bit harder with each step -- never a bad thing.

    Love them!

I had the original version and loved them. They were a bit bulky and this new version is slighter with a more slender feel. Bulky compared to other brands of sandals but light and streamlined for MBTs. These have all the great features of MBTs yet improve on issues with the originals (sensor now waterproof, lighter and slimmer-seems easier on the knees.) There is nothing not to love about these sandals. For me they are especially great for air travel and moving around airports, taking shoes off and on etc. Also all straps are adjustable for a custom fit. My feet are long and narrow; fitting sandals is usually a problem but these are perfect. Also the European sizing means a more precise fit. I do wish they also came in brown and navy.

    A Great new Kisumu
    • Rating:
      The Best!
    • Comments:

I had been wearing my original Kisumu's into the ground, because the Kisumu 2 was uncomfortable and I felt it was not the same quality -- but I was surprised and so pleased to find the Kisumu 3S fit and felt fine and comfortable right out of the box, with some adjustments of the straps. The default strap setting at the toes was a bit narrow, so I just opened it up a little, and it works fine all day -- no rubs or blisters. The straps are also more easily adjustable than the old version, depending on whether I want to wear socks or not. Best of all, my bad knee does not hurt as much, with these new sandals. And that has been well worth having to be a bit more careful getting used to the rocker-sole again (because my old ones were so broken down). I am so glad MBT is making excellent Kisumu's again, as I was hunting around and trying other kinds of sandals and shoes for a replacement. I also bought the red/grey Kisumu 3S, and another pair of the Black ones, and they are all consistent in fit and feel. If MBT starts making them in other colors (e.g. brown, green, blue) I will buy those too. These are my primary "shoes", as I have hammer-toes from childhood, and closed-toed shoes are painful. I even wear them to the gym, to workout with an exercise trainer.
