    The function of mBT is similar to that of balancing a ball under the foot.

    Increased input-response makes it easier for the musculature to react adequately. After ground contact there is a rolling movement, starting from a negative heel position (1). This creates a pre-stretch of the calf muscles. The straightening of the body, the balancing on the mid-foot (2) and the pull-through of the step to the back (3) initiates a rotation, which follows through the whole body. I have very high arches and have had problems with my feet for years. I am a 47yo nurse and work 12 hour shifts on a very busy unit. These shoes have been a godsend, I actually have a spring in my step at the end of the shift. My plantar fascitis feels better for the first time in years, neuroma is history and no more throbbing feet or back pain. My only disappointment is that I have wide feet and MBT does not accommodate width. I had to go up a size to make up for the width. I will definitely continue to buy MBT's, my feet have never been happier!

Narrow in the toe area. My pinkie toes hurt for 1.5 wks after wearing them all day. After the initial week, it breaks in. I would only recommend them to someone who can tolerate the initial break in period. However, if they have narrow feet, yes I would recommend them instantly.

From first wearing I felt my muscles being stretched. They made me more aware of my posture which I was able to continualy correct as I walked. After a week I definately felt more energised when walking at a fast pace. I use pilates as my form of exercise and I think these MBTs enhance that kind of exercise ( stretcing, toning and alignment) I love my MBTs!

I am a middle-aged nurse who works in a VERY busy clinic, so I am walking all day. I bought these shoes after wearing regular MBTs because I wanted a white pair and the extra challenge of the extra height. HOLY COW! This is my third pair of MBT shoes but my first "sport" version. I really like the extra little challenge they provide. I use them on the treadclimber, at work where I'm on my feet all day and pretty much anytime I want a challenging workout. I have found that using them during an areobic workout or yoga proves quite difficult due to the extra balance control but it can be done with practice.

This is my fourth pair of MBTs. I find that I need a 1/2 size larger in this brand compared to US brands, but they have been a lifesaver for me in overcoming foot problems (severe plantar fasciitis) and stabilizing my weak knees and hips to reduce pain when walking. I wear MBTs daily, all day, so that I can keep going all day without pain. You do have to learn to walk in them (but they provide a helpful DVD to guide you) as they have a different balance point than ordinary shoes.

I have been wearing MBT's for 4 years or so, and I finally got these when they went on sale. I was thinking I didnt need to break into them, as I had been wearing other styles....whoa... after one whole day of wearing them, I could really tell my legs got a work out!!! They dont look any "higher" than my Chapas but they DO provide a work out that is different. I really like them, and I love the reflective line that glows when car lights hit them. This model seems to have extra toe room, which is nice for jogging or walking and for wearing extra socks when it is cold. I love them. I must say of the five pair I have the Chapa's are my all around favorites.
I read some reviews in the past that talked about wear, and I should say, I am still wearing my original MBT's from four years ago, and they still look and feel great. They havent lost their cushion. I tell people to close your eyes and imagine standing or walking on a trampoline, thats how they feel. You really cant feel the floor. I am a nurse and have worked 12 and 16 hour shifts with these even post op from knee surgery. I wouldnt have been able to do it in regular shoes. I swear by these shoes, and as a nurse I am a "shoeaholic" and have tried every expensive "good" shoe you can think of. I only wear MBT's now. I even bought some of the sandals so I could wear them when not at work.

I love these. I've been wearing them since they arrived on the scene. They take the pressure off of my lower back (I've had several biopsies in my back/hips,spinal taps, and have nerve damage in my legs) and help me stand up straight (particularly helpful when I"m not always sure where my feet are since I don't always feel them). They took a bit to break in and did cause a blister the first times I wore them, but subsequent pairs haven't. They are unstable, so you must be careful to not twist an ankle (they're basically like wearing platforms!) but are well cushioned and I think, more comfy than other MBTs available. THey do feel like a bit of a work out for your legs,they are not light weight, and they look like frankenstein shoes...hideous!

I use these shoes now, exclusively, for exercise walking and on days at work when I know that I'll be on my feet a lot. They're very comfortable and wear extremely well. It took me a wearing or two to get used to the new curved sole, but man is it worth it. My back feels great and my core gets a really great workout and all I have to do is stand up! The heel is a little slippy and so I've had to double lace the shoe to make it fit more snuggly, but it was easy to do and acutally a recommneded in the manual. It's worth the cost!

These shoes are the most amazing self-exercising shoes for trimmer legs and buttocks just by walking! No uphill or downhill walks needed. Just walk. I wear them to work and walk quite a bit from building to building constantly exercising my legs and keeping the tension flowing on my buttocks to trim any fat and strenghten those muscles. At my age, 57, it makes me feel like I've had a full workout after a day, but I don't feel tired from it, just energized.

I have had 4 back surgeries and love these shoes. I no longer wear any other brand of shoes. I have these for every day [along with another pair of MBT's] I bought the Mary Janes for dress. The woman that works for me now wears MBT's [has 2 pair her sister has a pair]. My sister has 2 pairs. I highly recommend this brand of shoes.

1. Walk, jog and train with the greatest support muscle shoe ever! Don't cross pavement without'm!
This puts the fun back into walking and jogging.
2. You can feel the shock being absorbed with every step you take, while feeling your stabilizing muscles getting stronger!
3. I only wish that some of the everyday shoes, like the Mary-Jane's for example, also came in HIGH. It's just so much fun to even just rock-a-little while you stand and or walk-n-rock while you work!

I have a fused ankle and these are the most comfortable rocker sole shoes I have ever tried. They are far and away more comfortable to walk in than the custom soles I have had put on shoes. They are a little high but you get used to that very quickly.

Shoe is expensive but the comfort is worth the pain of the high price. As a nurse, I'm on my feet most of my 13 hr day and don't have any hip or knee pain at the end of the day. I walk my dog at least 1 mile/day after work and still can go the distance without pain. I still have a spring in my step at the end of it all.

I love my kisumu sandals and M. walk silver tennis shoes. It has helped with my posture and back. This shoe has proven to be all that it was advertised to be. My calf muscles are more toned and I no longer have the lower back pain that I've suffered with for a number of years. This was my first pair of MBTs; I now own this style in white and black, plus 5 other MBT styles. This is still my favorite, most comfortable, and most true-to-size style. Walking in these shoes is amazing; they have helped my back, knees, ankles, and heels. I am 59 and no longer have thigh cellulite. I bought a few extra pairs on sale once I learned they have been discontinued. How about some high MBTs in another style? That extra 1/4 inch or so really does make a difference.

I love this shoe and I am horrified that it is being discontinued. I have worn it everyday for jogging and to work for the last four years and find it comfortable and dependable. The only improvement I would request is that the design be made to take on less water in wet conditions. I hate squishing down the hall after stepping in a puddle.
