Usually prescribed to accommodate an insensitive diabetic foot or existing deformity, provide increased shock absorption, or redistribute pressure away from prominent lesions. Accommodative only, this insole design requires an extra depth shoe. Also, this insole is recommended as an interim product to relieve acute pain while patients are awaiting the arrival of their prescription orthotics. IMPORTANT NOTE: Medicare covers diabetic patients for three pairs of multi-density insoles per year.
