About the Clarks Originals® Collection
The Clarks Originals® Collection began back in the 1950’s when Nathan Clark decided to model a boot based on the style found in the bazaars of Cairo. This collection was part of the Clarks Shoes line and quickly grew with popularity. The Clarks Desert Boot became popular overnight, and provided a casual design that is still sought-after today. The collection expanded in the 1960’s to include the Clarks Wallabee, which is an icon in the collection with its crepe sole and simple design. Later, the Clarks Desert Trek shoe modified the original Desert Boot styling with a center seam down the top of the upper, and took America by storm. All of these shoes – and new models similar to them – remain very popular today.
What Sets Clarks Originals® Apart
The Clarks Originals® Collection features soft, unlined leather or suede that is comfortable and breathable. All of these shoes have laces so that you can adjust the shoe for a custom fit. The crepe outsole is durable and long-lasting. The classic styles and comfort of the Originals® Collection are distinctive and timeless.
