The uniquely designed sole, combined with correct training, achieves a more active and healthy posture and walk.

How does it work?

Through its unique design of its multilayered sole, MBT transforms flat, hard, artificial surfaces into natural uneven surfaces, simulating the walking action of our barefoot ancestors.

Unlike most conventional training shoes that support and cushion your feet, the unique construction of MBT challenges the sole, and the muscles used to form your posture, to be more active.

This reactive, more supportive muscle action increases shock absorption for joints and discs.

Walking more upright not only looks better but automatically makes us healthier and stronger. The back and joints are strengthened, circulation is increased and breathing is more efficient. MBT lengthens and strengthens the whole body while standing, walking or in gentle running.

The function of MBT is similar to that of balancing a ball under the foot.

Increased input-response makes it easier for the musculature to react adequately. After ground contact there is a rolling movement, starting from a negative heel position (1). This creates a pre-stretch of the calf muscles. The straightening of the body, the balancing on the mid-foot (2) and the pull-through of the step to the back (3) initiates a rotation, which follows through the whole body. This results in an active and natural posture and gait.

Arch is made of the finest sheepskin. Arch is flexible and absolutely colorfast. Arch is easily fixed inside the shoe by a self-adhesive foil.

Flatfoot refers to a foot with a lowered medial longitudinal arch. This condition is characterized by pain in the region of the plantar arch and the instep (the foot's upper and lower parts). As the condition progresses the foot grows increasingly flat and lengthens. The middle of the insole of the foot (in the region of the metatarsus) looks darker and keeps growing wider. Overweight, standing all day, hard, uneven floors, shoes with inadequate support and even sports activities put an extreme strain on the medial longitudinal arch. Remedies include foot bedding such as Arch which support the medial longitudinal arch. Arch prevents undue strain and weakening of the metatarsus. Already affected feet get proper support which prevents further development of flatfoot.
